hello again little missy,
where is all the time going? in some ways it seems like you just got here and in other ways it seems i have known you my whole life. i really love the the deep feeling of connection i have with you ayva. it's like when i first married your dad. he was my husband and i was his wife. it felt so foreign, and yet so normal. and now you are my daughter and i am your mommy. i love it. i also love that we are a little family now.
of course you continue to grow and learn and change. almost all of your newborn/one month clothes are packed away now. if you weren't so long you could still fit in some of them. i was kind of sad to put away some of the outfits as i had grown attached to them, but they will always be in my memories of learning how to dress little newborn ayva. plus how cool is it as a female to have basically a new wardrobe every few months?
the most important piece of "clothing" we've added to your wardrobe in the last few weeks is a bib. you have become a master drooler; your chin is always glistening in the light. drooling isn't the only thing you do with your saliva. a new nickname that i've been trying out lately is spitbug because if you aren't drooling, you're sucking your spit in and out. actually you make all kinds of noises with your mouth and lips and tongue. it's quite entertaining and you and i spend lots of time making different noises back and forth. you are quite the mimic.
you spend your playtime in a couple of different places. your dad and i had looked and looked for a real swing, but couldn't find one at first, so daddy hooked up some "entertainment" to your carseat. you sure liked to look at the black cable, the other stuff not so much.
thankfully, we eventually found a normal swing. you have loved staring at the little animals from the very moment i put you in it. sometimes i mix it up a little after i discovered you also love staring and talking to the animals on your green blanket. i've been giving you some time in your big girl bed too. you still sleep in your bassinet in mommy and daddy's room, but sooner or later you'll start sleeping in your room in your crib. your meme gave you a cute mobile with bugs that you love to follow in circles over and over giving your mom time to do the laundrey.
you have become a very good night-time sleeper, baby girl. for the last month your bedtime has been between 8:30-10:30. you almost always just go to sleep with nary a whimper which is good because your mommy hates to listen to your cry. in the morning you wake up around 7:30-8:00 and greet me with a great big smile. your joyfulness at seeing me sure makes it easier to drag myself out of bed that early. now if you only took day-time naps as good as you sleep at night we would be set.
as i mentioned above, you really like to talk to the animals on your green blanket. "talking" is certainly something you have done much more this month. your little baby noises and gurgles are the most cutest thing in our little world. and you are thisclose to an actual laugh/giggle. your daddy and i are really looking forward to that and also listening to your language develop. you certainly have no issues between french and english right now...you smile away at anyone who talks to you regardless of which language they speak. now if only you would keep smiling when you see the camera. i try and i try, but this is one of the best so far.
it sure is fun being your mama, ayva. you are such an easy-going baby for the most part. the only time you get really antsy is when you are hungry. i hope you stay calm and even-tempered as it sure makes "parenting" you easier.
