well howdy doody, i got myself a little job! i'm almost embarrassed to give the details as i still can't believe they are going to pay me to do something so simple. i will be working for a british company that rents out villas, apartments and houses by the week to british vacationers. what they need me to do is to give a "woman's touch" to the rentals after the cleaners are done and before the clients arrive. i know, sounds pretty easy, eh? arrivals and departures occur on sunday so that is the day i will work. i can even bring ayva along if i need to. the locations are all in my area, but i may need to go further north every so often. that's ok with me as they will pay for my gas.
the reason the company decided to hire someone for this position is that the cleaners just do the basics: they clean. they aren't necessarily paid to take a look at how the place is presented: are the shutters open, are the company's brochures and other information arranged just so, has the dirty laundry been picked up the by the laundry company etc. i've been given full liberties to use my initiative to make sure the properties look the best they can. further into the summer, i will also be doing spot checks on the cleaning company and making sure that the full-furnished rentals are well-stocked. gotta make sure the british have enough teaspoons for their tea!
so nothing too taxing, that's for sure, but it will get me out of the house a bit more and will put a few hundred euros a month into the bank. i'm looking forward to it.
ps: sunday was a huge success, but we forgot our camera. i am waiting to get pictures from some family members and then i will post a recap. my ladybug cupcakes were a hit!
